Hitting the silver screen August 14, 2015, the long awaited motion picture about the godfathers of “gangsta rap” aptly titled Straight Outta Compton, has just released the red band trailer of the N.W.A. flick.
Starring Ice Cube‘s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. as his dad, Corey Hawkins as Dr. Dre and Jason Mitchell as the late Eazy-E, the movie titled after N.W.A.’s platinum selling debut album, goes after the essence of what the five young men from Southern California went through to become international rap representatives. Paul Giamatti plays the money hungry Jerry Heller who leans in Eazy’s ear, causing the ultimate disbandment of the crew.
The trailer features an intro of Dre and Cube rolling through Compton, linking up with other emcees from the “CPT” like The Game and Kendrick Lamar in their palm tree lined, but dangerous habitat, giving viewers a front row seat of current day Compton.
