Yeezy goes for the jugular.
Late Thursday evening (February 12th), Roc Nation Sports held their first annual Roc City Classic concert at New York City’s Madison Square Park. The free concert is amongst the festivities happening for the NBA’s All-Star Weekend and was billed to be hosted by Kanye West and NBA superstar Kevin Durant. Earlier in the day, West premiered his brand new Adidas Yeezy 750 Boost shoe to a massive audience.
Thoroughly immersed in the hype surrounding his new footwear, Yeezy took to the stage at the concert and gave a shoutout to Adidas, but also took the opportunity to throw some jabs at Nike, whom he was previously in business with, releasing his highly popular Air Yeezy sneakers years ago. West went on to urge the audience to not wear the “other brand”, stating “We ain’t wearing that other company no more, right?”.
