The NBA All-Star Game came to New York City this past weekend, for the first time since 1998 and for the fifth time in the league’s history. Record-breaking, bone-chilling weather couldn’t damper the electricity that filled the big apple this past weekend, and Virgin Mega in collaboration with Funk Flex have a clothing collection that looks to capsulate the excitement.
Dissatisfied with this year’s NBA All-Star gear Funk Flex sought out to put his own spin on things. He felt the league’s gear didn’t pay tribute to the essence of what makes New York City the unique metropolis that it is and that’s the city’s textured five boroughs. Each borough that makes up NYC has its own style — its own flavor that makes them distinct from each other, and that is what Flex and Virgin Mega looked to embody through their captivating capsule collection.
The “NYC All-Star Collection” will be available exclusively through the Virgin Mega app, and will consist of four pieces per borough: short sleeve tee ($40), long sleeve tee ($50), hoodie ($65), and a snapback ($35).
