Dallas Cowboys All-Pro wide out Dez Bryant racked up 88 receptions, 1,320 yards, and a franchise record 16 touchdown receptions in 2014. These numbers are in line with his fantastic output for team since being drafted back in 2010. With his rookie contract officially expired, Bryant who has expressed a desire to remain in Dallas has yet to be granted a lengthy new contract. This has left many analysts scratching their heads, as he is one of the centerpieces of the team.

In his recent days, Dez has even griped on Twitter about his frustrations with the franchise, claiming he has been loyal to them but they have not reciprocated. Today, the reason for the teams reluctancy might be surfacing. Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com was recently questioned as to the hold up on the new contract and he revealed that there is a video of Bryant floating around that does not show him in the most positive light, and the team fears it may have Ray Rice level of negative publicity.

According to Florio, the video has been in existence for some years, and Dallas, along with many in the media are aware of its existence.

“It’s one of the best-kept secrets in the media,’’ Florio said. “A story that all of the major insiders know about, known about it for months, involving a video tape. … (and the) Cowboys are aware of it.’’
“Because of that and possible other reasons,’’ Florio reports, “the Cowboys have been very reluctant to commit major money to him. I don’t know that (the video) does exist … it relates to off-field concerns … that’s just the chatter, that there’s video … and the Cowboys are afraid it will come out and have a Ray Rice-like type of an impact. … People think that’s what’s keeping the Cowboys from a long-term commitment.’’
