The composition of music is an introspective activity that calls upon the artist to study and embrace their emotions. I’ve always found truth in the statement, “The greatest music comes from the heart”. On Beats And Blues, Katt Rockell works with 3 of the hottest producers in the game, BudaDaFuture, GrandzMuzik and Beat Butcha, to bring us outright, straight dopeness. Her voice, soulful and inviting, allows us to listen to her life and relate. If I had to choose who she reminds me of, I’d say, a mix of Sade, Goapele, and Amel Larrieux. For anyone who’s a fan of Hip Hop, Jazz, RnB, and Soul, Beats And Blues is definitely worth checking out.
I have to give Ms. Rockell props, she’s pursuing her dreams without restrictions. She plans to release her album, Living Free, as an independent artist on her own label, Culture Creative Music. Considering she has complete creative control over her sound, I’m confident that this project will be a success for her and everyone involved. Seeing strong-minded, talented women working towards their goals is inspiring. You deserve to shine and you have our support.
