Jared Evan and Statik Selektah team for this music video from Evan’s upcoming Still Blue EP with Selektah.
Directed by Rick Cordero, “Bass is Low” features Orange is the New Black’s Taryn Manning as Evan’s love interest in this music video that feels like somewhat of short film as Evan tells multiple stories all in the span of five and half minutes. The introduction of the music video. Singer/rapper Jared Evan’s starts out by expressing his concern for Taryn Manning as she enters some sort of mysterious warehouse. Evan follows soon after and is placed in various scenarios such as sexual desire, drug use, addiction, signing contracts and legal documents, all basically representing some of the downfalls associated with the music industry. The end of the video depicts Taryn grabbing hold of Jared Evan and the two running into the light, ending the video on an optimistic note because at least the two have each other even when “the bass is low.” Check out the video below:
