Remember that gorgeous all-white-everything, pearl-adorned Calvin Klein gown Lupita Nyong’o wore to the Oscars? Remember when you heard it had been stolen? Well it looks like the L.A.P.D. have recently found a dress that could be the one.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Sheriff’s Department received a call from TMZ who had apparently been tipped off by an anonymous caller that the dress was left at the London West Hollywood hotel. Apparently said caller took the $150,000 Calvin Klein gown to the garment district only to discover the pearls were fake and therefore returned the dress to a London West Hollywood Hotel bathroom currently under renovation. Authorities must talk to Lupita and anyone else with information about the dress before they are able to confirm whether it is in fact Lupita’s gown. The Women’s Creative Director of Calvin Klein Collection, Francisco Costa, said in a recent press release that “Once it’s returned to us, we will be able to have the dress restored and archived, as it now represents an important moment for the brand.” Hopefully we get confirmation soon as to whether the lovely gown Lupita helped design has finally been found.
