After an impressive first week at retailers, it appears Big Sean will finally reach the top of the charts. On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Def Jam rapper released his third studio album, Dark Sky Paradise. Led by lead singles “I Don’t F*ck With You” and “Blessings,” DSP sold an impressive 167,742 copies including streams in its first week, enough to likely land him the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Also released on the 24th was Tyga & Chris Brown’s collaborative project Fan of a Fan: The Album. Though the LP was met by mostly warm reception, it failed to make a big splash commercially, selling an underwhelming 67,707 units including streams.

Drake’s latest release If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late continued to wreck havoc throughout the industry, selling an additional 106,739 copies including streams. Less than a month after its release, this now puts the total sales at over 650,000, a walloping feat for a project originally destined to be a mixtape. Both J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive and Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint continued to chug along commercially, each refusing to leave the top 30 album chart.
