GS9’s Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel have been sitting behind bars since December of last year on a slew of charges ranging from murder to narcotics trafficking. Shmurda had previously called into Hot 97 to speak with Ebro In The Morning but the call was abruptly cut short due to technical difficulties.

This time, Bobby Shmurda had Rowdy Rebel on the line with him and despite of their current situation, the duo appear to be in good spirits.

“Right now, we just need someone to have some confidence in us,” Rowdy said of the label’s [Epic Records] reluctance to offer bail. “We ain’t ready to run nowhere and fuck up their bail money.”

Furthermore, Shmurda highlighted some of his experience in jail and also cleared up rumors about his “uncle” who allegedly was willing to post bail money for GS9. He noted that the man was not even his uncle, but a former manager. “That n–ga not even my real uncle,” he said, laughing, “That n–ga a liar.”

Though MMG’s Meek Mill had sent him mail, Shmurda says he has not received much support from many others. With that said, he did express interest in being managed by 50 Cent, to which hosts of the morning show offered to assist with.

Co-host Peter Rosenberg asked Shmurda if he was guilty of the charges that have been levied against him, to which he staunchly replied that he had done nothing wrong, claiming authorities are just upset because his whole neighborhood supports him.

They don’t like the fact that my neighborhood supports me; they don’t like the fact that I made it out the neighborhood, they don’t like the fact I am a young Black kid.

To further support his claims that the the New York justice system is “racist and biased”, Bobby Shmurda described what the cops told him the day of his arrest:

They said they are tired of their kids listening to my music, I swear to God that’s what they told me. They told all of us that.
