Even though football season is over, some major deals and signings in the NFL has the sports world in a frenzy. Amongst those organizations who’ve been making the power moves are the Buffalo Bills. After another disappointing season, the New York Jets have decided to let go of head coach Rex Ryan. This dismissal has caused the Bills to take the major risk and sign the energetic, boisterous head coach to lead them to victory starting September of 2015. The Bills followed up with making two more power deals, all of which occurred Wednesday. Needing a veteran leader to come in and school talented rookie quarterback EJ Manuel, Buffalo was able to make a deal with the Minnesota Vikings, giving up two undisclosed draft picks for quarterback Matt Cassel. Cassel is no stranger to success, as he played a huge role in the success of leading the Patriots to 10 wins in 2008. In addition, he was the Kansas City Chiefs starter for four years before he backed up Christian Ponder for the Minnesota Vikings. Falling victim to the injury bug, Cassel lost his starting quarterback position to rookie Teddy Bridgewater. But with a new season and a new team, Matt will be the person Buffalo will look at under center.

Other than acquiring Cassel, Buffalo hit the jackpot and was able to have running back sensation LeSean McCoy, as he was traded from Philly to the Bills for linebacker Kiko Alonso. This deal has the entire football world extremely shock as to why the Eagles will just unexpectedly let go of one of the NFL’s top running backs. Since the Eagles drafted the Pennsylvania native, McCoy has the 3rd-most highest rushing yards (6,792) and fourth-most touchdowns (44) in the league. When word got out that Slim Shady has gotten traded, sources told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that he was not pleased at all.

He’s a Pennsylvania kid. He’s never played football outside of Pennsylvania — high school, college, pro. So of course he’s not happy.

Fans, former NFL and current players were definitely shocked to hear about the controversial deal, as they took to twitter to express how they felt. Players such as running back Darren Sproles, linebacker London Fletcher and defensive back Patrick Peterson were the main individuals expressing the shocking news while offering McCoy some support.

With this unexpected move along with the releasing two other players, the Eagles were able to free up some salary cap in which sources believe would help them land a big time player. For the Bills, these power moves can play a huge role in dethroning the defending AFC East division and Super Bowl champs New England Patriots. With Rex Ryan stepping in, expect a newly adopted run-first offense as they will have plenty of options to turn to with McCoy, Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller, if he decides to return to the team as he will be a unrestricted free agent. Even though football season will not be back until August, the Bills are off to a impressive start in improving overall team performance. The NFL fanatics will be paying close attention to what new tricks Rex has enstored for his AFC East foes.
