The word feminism has gone under the radar, even ignored, in the past decade. It’s as if women are afraid to use the term anymore or are ridiculed when they do because if they define themselves as a “feminist” they may come off too aggressive, “bitchy”, or a man hater. My question is, do people understand what the word actually means?
The word “feminism,” by definition is the belief that men and women should have equal rights. It is the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes. It is just as much a problem for men to acknowledge as it is for women. If you stand loud and proud for Black history month, you should stand just as tall for Women’s History Month. Both are just as important and it’s a matter of human rights!
