On this day 18 years ago, a rookie who was the 1st overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft matched up against the GOAT in his prime. In their 3rd meeting ever, AI was able to put up a scoring clinic, dropping a then career high 37 points against Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. In that game, one of Iverson’s career defining moment was a play that will be talked about today. Coming off the screen, Iverson got the ball and while Jordan guarding the former Georgetown Hoya great, hit Mike with a ridiculous hesitation cross over that had Mike slip and sliding out his red and white Jordan XII sneakers. He made the shot and the crowd went wild. Check out this classic moment that helped AI had one of the most legendary NBA careers of all time. On March. 12, 1997, it was safe to say that no one didn’t want to be like Mike after “The Answer” made Mike’s ankles look questionable.
