Felicity Jones, known for her roles in The Theory of Everything, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Like Crazy, has been picked as the lead for the as of yet untitled Star Wars spinoff directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters). According to Variety, Jones was one of several actresses, including Tatiana Maslany and Rooney Mara, to be considered.

This is one of two known spinoffs to the venerable space-faring franchise; the other is being directed by Chronicle director Josh Trank. Plot details are scarce, but speculation says that these spinoffs will focus on the younger days of Princess Leia and Han Solo, but only time will tell. The first spinoff will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.

A movie about Leia and Han would be amazing. The internet has an unbelievable amount of websites, fan fiction and utube videos devoted to their story. I feel it should start from after Yavin and show how they interacted and both eventually fell in love by Return of the Jedi ( It took Han until then to finally say I love you ). That could be a short part at the beginning or if it starts after Jedi then small sort of flashback scenes maybe showing what they are fighting about (and constantly because that was so amusing) or during quiet or romantic parts show flashbacks of them getting along good or being playful ( before Jedi ). It could even show their eventual breakup (if indeed they did as we won’t know till the next movie episode VII is out). If this is the movie it will be a blockbuster. Of course it would have to have a lot of the war, fighting and conflict in it also but that is a given.
