Chris Tucker burst onto the comedy scene two decades ago, ushered in by the likes of Martin Lawrence and Bernie Mac, as a high-pitched, insanely funny and relatable comic, and quickly found international stardom on the big screen, most notably, the Rush Hour trilogy.

Still, his first love will always be the stage, and somehow, Netflix has put Tucker’s name in lights for the first time.

His first ever full-length stand-up comedy special, Chris Tucker Live, will air live on Netflix on July 10, and it will undoubtedly be a spectacle. Netflix’s Chief Content Officer had this to say about the announcement:

Chris Tucker is a true global movie star and a one-of-a-kind talent whose remarkable energy, delivery and original style make him one of the funniest comedians of our time. We cannot wait to share his distinct and hilarious voice with our members across the globe.

Can’t, wait.
