Check out one of the hottest MCs from Philly doing his thing.

Lil Uzi Vert is one of the hottest new MCs buzzing from the streets of Philly. He recently hit Austin, Texas and made his rounds at SxSW, killing shows and making a splash wherever he went, and he’s been selected as this week’s Mic CheckHere’s a clip of him out turning up with Rae Sremmurd.

Uzi Vert’s been underground for a while, but he has a major sound. On “53,” he spits, “N***a from the north, but I sound like I’m from the south,” which excellently depicts his sound, considering he sounds like a vague between Fetty Wap and Young Thug.  He’s positioning himself nicely, thanks to collaborations with EDM Trap producer Dj Carnage on “WDYW,” and the aforementioned impact he made at Austin’s annual festivities–his career seems to be only ascending.

Thus far, his best song is easily “Motorola,” an ode to drugs and the throwback Motorola chirp phone.

With so many industry artists taking notice to Vert’s sound, it’s only a matter of time before the streets do. Be sure to follow Vert on Twitter and Instagram.
