A young mother is dead, and a young father is behind bars for killing her while he held their infant daughter.
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, 19-year old Samirra White was arguing with her boyfriend, 21-year old Dimitri Harrell, in their Minneapolis apartment. Harrell was holding their daughter in his arms when he grabbed his handgun and fatally shot White.
White’s brother says that he heard his sister yelling at Harrell, “Don’t point that gun at me!” Harrell yelled something back at White and shot her. Her brother rushed to the bedroom and saw his sister on the ground. According to witnesses, the couple began arguing because Harrell got home late, and White declared that she no longer wished to be in a relationship with Harrell anymore, causing him to lose his temper.
Harrell says that he did not meant to shoot White, and that his gun went off accidentally.
