Drake is joined by the “love of his life” for a weekend 2 surprise
Last week, Drake‘s headlining set on the final night of weekend 1 at Coachella included a surprise guest, Madonna, that provided one of the most talked about moments in recent Coachella history. Last night, he gave Coachella fans one more surprise before closing out one of the world’s biggest festivals: Nicki Minaj.
Though the crowd screamed and pretty much lost it when the superstar rapper graced the stage, her time there was filled with awkwardness. For one, she didn’t say a single word, she just strutted and twirled while the “Truffle Butter” instrumental played through the very part her verse would normally go. Drake spat his game to Nicki–he’s admittedly been in love with her since he first signed with Young Money–and reminded her that “it’s been too long mama.”
Shortly after, Minaj was gone from the stage. Her presence alone was enough to send the crowd into a frenzy, but they surely wished they’d gotten more. Check out the footage above.
