Boko Haram is considered to be one of the worst terrorists groups in Africa, and last year, they took responsibility for kidnapping school girls from a predominately Christian village called Chibok. It is believed that the girls were either sold into slavery, married off, or are training to become fighters for Boko Haram, sparking the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
Nigerian Armed Forces have rescued 200 girls and 93 girls. According to CNN, Boko Haram’s camp was raided and destroyed. The girls have been recovered by Armed Forces, and are being screened and processed to be sent back to their families. The rescued girls are believed to not be the girls from Chibok, and what’s worse, Boko Haram has kidnapped at least 2,000 women and killed more than 4,000 civilians.
