They say all good things must come to an end…

After being on air for more than a decade, American Idol has officially been cancelled. The singing competition series will end next year upon the completion of its 15th season.

American Idol is responsible for many careers. Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Ruben Studdard are a few artists who have the show to thank for their success. However, the show’s ratings have been dropping. The marketplace has been crowded with other singing competition shows like The Voice and X-Factor.

After Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson left the show, recording artists began to fill their seats. Remember when Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey were judges and had their dramatic “beef”?

The judges for the final season will be Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Conick Jr. Fox announced that the last season will be a celebration of the show’s legacy and impact on popular culture. Expect many special guests, performances and surprises. Fans are in for a real treat with the final season.
