Women’s Wear Daily announced that Diane VonFurstenberg, former CEO and founder of DVF, has selected former Tory Burch executive, Paolo Riva. Von Furstenberg told WWD “This is a most important decision for me…this is an heir, somebody to take it on for the next decades”.  She searched in both the U.S. and Europe before switching up her criteria,“Barry said to me, ‘You should stop looking for those who are already CEOs, and you should look for the next superstar…that was a magic word.”Not only was Rivera an executive at Tory Burch, he’s also worked at Valentino and Ferragamo. Von Furstenberg also said,”He completely seduced me in the way he sees me, the way he sees the brand, the way he sees the potential, and the way he sees the world in disruption.” Looks like theres no place to go but up with DVF successor, Paolo Riva.
