This year’s Block Party LA included amazing performances by independent artists as well bigger names.

Block Party LA featured Talib Kweli, OverDoz, Curtiss King, Dean Risko, Alex Isley, Ramaj Eroc, The League, NameBrand, Jake&Papa, Craig Gillespie, Tassnata + Junia-T, Rook and a surprise performance by Ab Soul. The musical gathering also included a Words of Encouragement booth, a pop up shop hosted by The Originators, a Popsikle shop, food trucks, and art displays. A portion of proceeds were donated to the Children’s Defense Fund scholarship program “Beat the Odds”. The Children’s Defense Fund strives to ensure equal opportunities for all children by providing them with a fair and healthy start in life. Ashley Glaspie, founder of Block Party LA said, “I was raised to give back and with that instilled in me combined with my love for music. Block Party LA has become my way of giving back to the community and helping my generation to feel empowered to chase their dreams.”
