With the third season of OITNB scheduled to premiere June 12, Catherine CurtainAbigail Savage, and Selenis Leyva attended this annual fundraiser which aims to help formerly incarcerated and homeless men reform their lives. The event was held at the Boewry Hotel’s 10,000 square-foot mezzanine and outdoor terrace with more than 500 guests in attendance. Catherine Curtain discussed the issue of mass incarceration within our nation and said, “These are people we need to help integrate into society…we need their hearts and minds.” Other celebrities who attended the event include Ryan Hawke, Alan Ritchson, Harry Lennix, Hisham Tawfig, Holt McCallany,  John Amos, Max Jenkins, Rashad Jennings and Simon Kirke.

Raising over $250,000, The Doe Fund’s sweet: New York Tasting featured the nation’s leading chefs as well “The Men in Blue” who clean more than 170 miles of NYC streets annually as a part of their recovery process.George McDonald, Founder and President of The Doe Fund said, “Food is life at The Doe Fund…so many of the “men in blue” in Ready, Willing & Able choose the culinary arts as their path to better lives because food is such an essential part of who we are.
