Michael Smith trolls his colleagues, brings 2-year old daughter Mya to work
Michael Smith‘s ESPN talk show, His & Hers, which he hosts with Jemele Hill, is quickly becoming one of the more popular sports talk segments on ESPN. Probably because of things like this.
Last night, in case you hadn’t heard, Stephen Curry brought his 2-year old daughter, Riley, to the podium with him following the Warriors’ Game 1 victory over the Houston Rockets. She then proceeded to steal the show. Riley interrupted her father, waved flamboyantly at reporters, and even crawled under the table and peeked out from under the tablecloth in an all too cute one-child show. The internet (naturally) erupted in googly-eyed tweets and memes in support of Curry’s adorable daughter.
However, not everyone was amused. A few of ESPN’s biggest names (Skip Bayless, Brian Windhorst) and a Bleacher Report writer, Ric Bucher, took to the airwaves and Twitter to express their discontent with Riley’s stunts, citing the fact that she was merely interfering with an extremely sensitive and tight process: meeting the deadlines of publications.

Michael Smith, however, did not air on the side of his colleagues. He argued with Thompson that there was nothing wrong with the Currys’ 2-man show last night, and pointed out that the analysts that appear to be up in arms on the subject, don’t have 2-year old kids of their own that they have to deal with after a long day. Following that point, Smith beckoned for his own 2-year old daughter, Mya, to join him on the set of, an obvious poke at the #KidsNotAllowed bear. Unlike Riley though, Mya was not ready for her close-up. As soon as Smith got ready to settle in with his daughter in front of the cameras, Mya made it very clear that she preferred to be behind the scenes. You can watch that hilarious clip here.
