Surveillance video of a shootout in a Cincinnati gas station has surfaced, and it’s quite a unique sight. According to Cincinnati Police Chief Maris Herold, the shootout was the product of a turf war between rival gangs, and the shooter pictured on camera has been identified as Rayshawn Herald.
I can just tell you this is senseless and if you’ve see the video or shown the video this is almost like a guy who has no concerns for anybody else. From my perspective after watching that video there’s no doubt in my mind this guy is reckless. -Cincinnati Police Chief, Maris Herold
Chief Herold mentioned that he has been given extra resources to catch the reckless shooter, who could have very easily injured severla bystanders, including a mother and her infant daughter. “We were sitting right there. One inch, a couple inches off, it would have hit her or me. It was real scary. We didn’t know what to do, nobody knew what to do,” said one witness.
When the shooting began, Herald was walking along a sidewalk, clearly on the phone. The crazy part about the video is that, when the shooting began, people around Herald began ducking and running for cover. Meanwhile, Herald stood tall and immediately drew his own weapon to return shots, all the while keeping the phone to his ear. Watch the surveillance clip above.
