What does a producer who was born in the Bay Area, raised in England, and now lives in Los Angeles sound like? Beatnick Dee. After working with Blu, Rass Kass, and Army of the Pharaohs, Dee is ready for his debut album, Creative Medicine (6/30). The West Coast funk is strong with this one but also has a fuzzy density to the overall vibe. The album features Denitia & Sene, Cashus King (FKA Co$$), and many others.
“Luxurious Rain” features Pheo and one of the more interesting beats of 2015 so far. It sounds like a mix of early A$AP Rocky and Lil Ugly Mane. It also matches the title of the track perfectly.
