Ray McDonald has been releases from the Chicago Bears on Monday after his latest arrest for domestic violence and child endangerment changers in Santa Clara, California.

McDonald had been given a second chance by the Bears after he was released by the San Francisco 49ers last year due to sexual assault charges. McDonald was arrested that same year for domestic violence against his pregnant fiancee; however, no chargers were filed. Police responded to a call before 4 am at a residence.

According to CNN’s Amanda Watts, “McDonald was not there, put officers learned that McDonald allegedly ‘physically assaulted the victim while she was holding a baby,’ police said in a statement.” Once learning of his arrest, the Bears announced his released Monday afternoon.

“We believe in second chances, but when we signed Ray, we were very clear what our expectations were if he was to remain a Bear,” General Manager Ryan Pace said in a statement. “He was not able to meet the standard, and the decision was made to release him.”
