On April 24, Bruce Jenner sat down with ABC’s Diane Sawyer and announced to the world what many had suspected for weeks prior: he was transitioning into a woman. Shortly thereafter, the internet erupted with reactions to Jenner’s confirmation, and an outpouring of support was coupled with several conversations on transgender, and the hope that this high-profile example of gender transition gave people all over the world the courage to follow their hearts on their respective journeys.

Since then, Bruce had been quite quiet, only popping up in conversations surrounding his family’s reception of his interview. That silence has come to an end. Just a short while ago, Vanity Fair revealed their new cover: Bruce Caitlyn Jenner, in a white one-piece, brown, shoulder-length hair flowing as she stares intently into the camera.

The cover story, penned by Buzz Bissinger, contributing author to Friday Night Lights, will cover the “tensions, traumas, and courage that shaped Caitlyn into the woman you see today.”
