Superstar singer and entertainer Beyoncé has made a concerted effort to prove to fans she’s just like us no matter how much her fans try to hold her to an possible standard of beauty. Mrs. Carter recently caused a stir when she admitted to struggling with maintaining her taut body through dieting. In a clip from an interview with Good Morning America, King Bey confessed she searched long and hard for a diet that would help her lose weight and keep it off. She finally found it in the new plant-based diet created by exercise physiologist and “The 22 Day Revolution” author Marco Borges.

“I am not naturally the thinnest woman. And I have struggled with diets from a young age,” the Grammy winner confessed. “And finding something that actually works and actually keeps the weight off has been difficult for me.”

The vegan diet is based on the theory habits can be broken in 22 days. Borges, who is partnering with Beyoncé to begin a meal delivery service, recommends people stay away from alcohol, soy and gluten for 22 days. Borges and the singer believe weight loss is just one of the many advantages of the diet. Borges says the improvement of one’s health is the ultimate goal, but weight loss is also a byproduct of the vegan diet.

Beyoncé also added,

“I felt like my skin was really firm, a lot tighter than when I deprived myself of food. And I got the weight off fast and the weight stayed off.”

The plant-based diet would be a radical change from the home cooking most of us are used to, but if Beyoncé, who readily admits Popeyes is her weakness, can stay disciplined and wake up like that, why can’t we?
