The internet is attacking Slate…and for good reason
Slate Magazine is catching heat on Twitter today because of the following tweet, which, in an effort to begin a discussion on LBGTQ issues, prompts Twitter users to “#AskAHomo.”
Naturally, this exercise didn’t go over too well on Twitter.
Homo? Really? Did you consider that #AskAHomo might not be the best hashtag? Come on, @Slate. https://t.co/JbXK8CiW8d

#AskAHomo because there’s no way we straight people could possibly understand basic human empathy and respect without the use of a slur!

They raise valid points. It’s great that Slate wanted to raise awareness and engagement on some oft-overlooked issues, but next time, be a little more sensitive with the hashtag.
