The debate of the controversial confederate flag has hit an all time high with a new report of a group coming together to keep the flag up. According to MSNBC, a North Carolina chapter of the Ku Klux Klan has reserved space on the grounds of South Carolina’s State House on July 18th. The chapter, Loyal White Knights are considered to be the largest organization in the country,  made the announcement Tuesday.

“We will be at the state house in Columbia, South Carolina standing up for our confederate history,” 

The confederate flag has been the topic after a gunman went into Mother Emmanuel A.M.E. church and killed 9 people. The gunman, Dylann Roof has ties with a white supremacist group. The flag has been taken down since many signed a petition to take the flag down. Many politicians voted to have the flag taken down even the the Governor Nikki Haley.

On the recording announcing the rally, the Klan gave the reason why they wanted to rally for the Flag.

“Our government is trying to erase white culture and history right out of the history books. If you’re tired of all the liberals and nonsense that’s being spewed out by your leaders and government, please stand with us on July 18th 2015,” the recording said. “If you’re white and proud, join the crowd.”
