Monroe chooses the Bucks over the Knicks and Lakers….my oh my the mighty have fallen from the top of the class
Another blockbuster deal was made yesterday that had people scratching their heads in awe. Free agent center Greg Monroe has decided to sign a max deal consisting of $50 million dollars for three years with a player option for the fourth year. The 25-year-old former Georgetown great averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds a game for the past four seasons in Detroit. Monroe chose a young scrappy Bucks squad after meeting with teams such as the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Portland Trailblazers. The deal will not be official until July 9, the day teams can officially sign players to their contract agreements.
With Monroe joining Milwaukee, a lot of NBA fans and experts are expecting the new and improved Bucks to make some major noise in the NBA next year. Finishing the season 41-41 which is good enough to be the #6 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, Jason Kidd will have a very nice arsenal of young talent to turn to night in and night out. With the return of former Duke great Jabari Parker, and additions of Monroe and former Raptors guard Greivis Vasquez, the Bucks have something cooking up in Wisconsin as they will only get better developing the raw talents consisting of Michael Carter-Williams, Khris Middleton and “The Greak Freak” himself, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Watch out fans, it’s looking like the Bucks are ready to make some major noise in the East.
