On the Fourth of July in 2013, Jay-Z released his highly anticipated Magna Carta Holy Grail album via free digital download to all Samsung customers and was made available for retail sale just four days later.

Released on his newly established Roc Nation imprint, Hov hired the best of guests emcees, singers and producers to put together his twelfth album including Mrs. Carter, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Pharrell, Rick Ross, Swizz Beats and many others. In just shy of two months, MCHG was certified platinum by the RIAA.

Timeless tracks that will forever be etched in music history from MCHG include “FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” featuring Rick Ross, “Tom Ford”, “Picasso Baby” and of course the title track, which was melded together from the minds of Timberlake, The Dream, Jigga and the late Kurt Cobain.

Salute to Jay for giving the people something to rock every summer, but let’s remember to keep that Magna Carta in heavy rotation during the 4th of July.
