A Georgia toddler was left with her mother’s dead body for 36 hours after being shot. According to NY Daily News, the mother, 36 year old Nakita Lashawn Holland was found shot to death in her Carrollton bedroom after being shot four times in her back. She was nine months pregnant. Holland was shot Sunday and was in the home with her two year old daughter who was unharmed. The next day, Holland’s sister and landlord discovered her body with her two year old crying next to her with her mother’s blood on her feet. Holland was scheduled for a C- section this week.
Police are unsure if the child witnessed the death of her mother and are holding off interviewing her because she is young. They are waiting for the autopsy to see how long the toddler was with her mother’s body. They do not have a suspect in custody or a motive. The child is in the custody of her grandmother, Slynda Johnson. Carrollton Police are asking anyone with information to call 770-834- 4451.
