Just weeks after his WBO title he won by defeating Manny Pacquaio was stripped from him, Floyd “Money” Mayweather is back in the gym prepping for his next fight. According to fight experts, they are saying that Floyd’s next opponent will be Andre Berto. The announcement will be made within a matter of weeks as the fight will be taking place on September 12, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Many believed that this is going to be another money reeling pay-per-view bout but on the contrary, the bout will be a prime time event that will be aired on the CBS network.

Floyd’s next opponent is far from a slouch. Berto owns a record of 30-3 with 23 wins coming by the way of knockouts. His recent bout came in March 13, 2015 when he defeated Josesito Lopez for the interim WBA Welterweight belt by TKO in the 6th round. Known for his explosiveness, power and speed, Berto has been amongst the debates as being regarded as one of the best welterweights in the business today. Despite reeling in some impressive wins, Berto has been the spotlight of some controversy as he was tested positive for a banned substance after he defeated Jan Zaveck.

With the announcement coming any day or week now, some experts are already speculating who will be Floyd’s final opponent of his illustrious career. With the “Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya having 100% disinterest of coming out of retirement to fight the champ after calling him out, many experts are considering witty, slick speedster Amir Khan to step in the ring to attempt to take down boxing’s top pay-per-view money reeler. With a record of 31-3, Khan has the showmanship, hand speed and impressive fan following to create one last block buster for Floyd Mayweather. Only time will tell as fans will mark and circle Sept. 12 as “Money Mayweather” day. The perfect unofficial sport holiday for sports fans to host or attend a fight party nationwide.
