Talk about classics…the Pacers are ready to show fans how blue collar their game is with this throwback uniform

When you think of classic basketball movies, the average hoop fan may think of blockbusters such as “He Got Game“, “Above The Rim“, “Blue Chips” or “Sunset Park“. But there are timeless classic that fans have no choice but to pay homage due to the fact that it brought a certain identity to a town, city and state. The Indiana Pacers realized this and have decided to reveal to fans that they will sporting the Hickory uniform that was sported in the 1986 classic film entitled “Hoosiers“. In partnership with MGM Studios, the Pacers would like to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary by wearing the classic red and gold uniform combo as part of the newly structured collection called the NBA Pride Collection.

There’s major symbolism as the uniform was revealed to the public as the Pacers organization strongly believed that the Hickory uniform possess a rich tradition of toughness, heart and determination. Even tho the uniform was worn in a movie that was based in a true story, the vintage gears represents the pride and joy of Indianapolis basketball. Debuted by guard George Hill, the debut of the uniforms have already won over critics and fans all over the sports world. One of them is former ESPN and current TNT analyst Rachel Nichols.

 

With the dope new uniforms on display, let’s just hope that Indiana will get back on the right track and find their way back to the playoffs. Paul George if you reading this, it’s time to get busy and do work.
