Could we finally get a shot fired from Philly?
Meek Mill began this back-and-forth with Drake on the offensive. Just over a week ago, when he unleashed a barrage of tweets calling out Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend and Drake, who raps on Meek’s Dreams Worth More Than Money album, Meek appeared to be in the driver’s seat. He had the #1 album on the charts, a super hot, superstar girlfriend on his arm, a tour on the horizon, a popular phone app, a pop hit, a club hit, and the rest of the year to build on an impressive 2015 campaign.
That momentum has since vanished. Over the past 6 days, Meek has been handily dissed twice Drake, the guy whose career involves sensually joshing with his super hot, superstar girlfriend in very public places, and swung and missed at a potential moment on Funk Flex‘s Monday night show. It’s the bottom of the 9th inning, and Team Meek badly needs an extra-base hit.
Don’t give up hope. After performing in Toronto last night on Nicki’s Pinkprint Tour, Meek posted to his Instagram earlier today that he’s on the road, headed to Montreal, and that he’d be in the studio “soon.”
We’re waiting.
