After releasing a sensational video for “Alright” last month, Kendrick Lamar returns with a clip for one of the more unlikely music video candidates on his chart-topping To Pimp A Butterfly album.
The Joe Weil-directed video for “For Free?”–which is also apparently directed by The Little Homies–depicts a demanding woman lashing out at someone over the phone before Kendrick Lamar’s depraved facial expressions announce his entrance, which give way to somewhat of a chase, and an Uncle Sam appearance. It’s interesting that Kendrick and company went with this as the follow-up to “Alright,” but as has been the case with his career thus far, there’s always a reason.
