Trevor Jackson, a native of Indiana and former TV star, has returned from a self-imposed hiatus to set forth his brand new mixtape, In My Feelings, featuring guest spots from Mystikal, Kevin Gates, and more.
This isn’t Jackson’s first flirt with entertainment; he began acting when he was just 8 years old, and has done everything from musicals on Broadway, to tour with fellow Atlantic Records standout, Justine Skye. The mature, enigmatic In My Feelings imagines Jackson as a purveyor of traditional R&B, with the genre-bending 2010’s twist that has placed Ty Dolla $ign and Trigga Trey Songz at the forefront, like on “Simple As This,” when Jackson deftly interpolates Chedda Da Connect‘s modest hit, “Flicka Da Wrist,” in the song’s opening sequence.
