For the second year in a row, The Basketball Tournament had the basketball world in a frenzy as 97 teams nationwide compete against one another regionally to earn themselves a spot in the national championship game. Teams consisting of former collegiate greats, NBA players and current overseas players are formed to fight their way out to compete and win a grand prize of $ 1 million dollars. At the end, there was two who competed in front of a packed crowd at the Rose Hill Gym in Fordham University. MMG’s own Stalley was on hand to witness Overseas Elite defeated Team 23 67-65. Former St. John’s Red Storm great DJ Kennedy scored 24 points, three of them came in crucial time as he was able to knock down free throws during the closing seconds of the game. His college teammate Paris Horne had 10 points while Errick McCollum (currently holds Chinese Basketball Association scoring record with 82 points in a game) had 15 points. Leading the way for Team 23 was Davin White who finished with 34 points. Congratulations goes out to Overseas Elite as they planned to spend the $1 million dollar winnings amongst its 8 players on the roster, their coach and general managers. Hey fellas, you got a spot for shooter for next year!? Let it rain!!!!
