Everything in life is temporary. From houses, cloths, cars, everything in life can be replaced. Athletes seem to be a group of people who still can’t understand this concept. Not matter how good the player, there will always be someone to take that spot away from them. Along with contracts being signed and fights in dugouts, The Things We Learn in Sports this week deals with the idea that no is above being replaced.
7. Nick Foles and Rams agree to a new deal
Nick Foles and the Rams agreed to a two-year extension on Friday. Ian Rapoport is reporting that the deal with worth 24 million.

Foles, 26, arrived in St. Louis this offseason via a trade from Philadelphia that sent Sam Bradford the other way. Foles spent his first three NFL seasons with the Eagles, experiencing largely up-and-down affairs that saw him look like a franchise quarterback one moment and borderline unplayable the next.
This basically gives Foles 2-years to prove that be can back to his 2013 form where he was a Pro-Bowl player.
6. Percy Harvin clears the air about the Seahawks situation.
Percy Harvin signed a 1-year deal with the Buffalo Bills this past offseason, and is trying to prove that he is still that elite player in this league. Harvin was a guest on ESPN’s First Take and address the situation that had the Super Bowl champion Seahawks trade him to the New York Jets. Harvin said that he had a problems with members of the receiving core. When he brought those problems to head coach Pete Carroll, Harvin says that he’s concerns weren’t heard. 5. Marshawn Lynch jokes about Super Bowl play on the “League”
Marshawn Lynch makes an appearance on the wildly popular show the “League”. Lynch plays himself, and makes fun of the situation that has been the biggest joke of the season. The episode, which will air September 9, features the running back hanging out on the beach as a business member of “Taco Corp.” along with a character named Taco MacArthur. Another dude, who’s Taco’s brother on the show, asks for a beer, and Lynch’s fellow bigwig insists on throwing it.“Just hand it to me,” Beast Mode begs. “No need to throw it, man. C’mon. … I could sleepwalk that thing to him, boy.” Then madness ensues. They should have just ran the ball.
4. It was all good just a week ago.
Seems like if you have a problem with a team or a player in the league, the place to go is on First Take. Brandon Marshall was traded from the Chicago Bears to the New York Jets in the offseason. Due to injuries, Marshall had a down season and , to his own admission, believe people are counting him out. The All-Pro receiver sat down at the debate desk where he explained the situation between him and Jay Cutler and his expecting for the season.
3. Tempers flare in Detroit
There’s rarely a time where baseball enters the The Things We Learn in Sports, unless it involves fights. The Detroit Tigers have traded away their second and third best players in David Price and Yoenis Cespedes, at the trade deadline, which indicated to their fans that they are in rebuilding mode. That means another 2 months of meaning less baseball. Usually the anger is directed at opponents, but Tigers teammates James McCann and Jose Iglesias went at each other in the dugout Friday night at Comerica Park. Watch the fight below.

2. A College football player is killed by police
Christian Taylor was shot and killed during a struggle after the unarmed 19-year-old crashed a car through the front window of a car dealership, authorities said per NBC.com. Taylor was a sophomore at Angelo State University in San Angelo. Officers were responding to a burglary call about 1 a.m. Friday in Arlington when they discovered someone had driven a vehicle through a front. Clearly some have voiced their outrage towards this situation.

1. Aldon Smith released by 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers release linebacker Aldon Smith after he was arrested on accusations of, hit and run, DUI, and vandalism. This is the third time that the pro-bowl player has been arrested for and alcohol related incident. Smith was coming off a season where he was already suspended for 9 games because of off the field issues. Smith has a long road back if he wants to play football again.
