A few months ago, the world cheered when it was discovered that Marie Holmes had won $127 million. At the time, Holmes was a single mother of four who had just quit her fast food jobs to care for one child who has special needs. After taxes, Holmes went home wiht $88 million. Holmes is back in the news, but not for doing something positive with her money. Rather, spending it to bail her fiancee out of jail.
Now people are upset with the single mother because she used some of her money to bail out her fiancee. According to Black America Web, Holmes used $6 million of her winnings to bail out her fiancee, Lamarr McDow. McDow is no stranger to the law because he is a suspected gang member who was arrested for violating a probation curfew while under house arrest. McDow and Holmes where both charged with marijuana possession. McDow has a record of 200 offenses.
Holmes stood by her man and paid his $6 million bond. Even though the identity of who bailed out McDow was suppose to be private, Holmes went on her facebook page and admitted that she indeed bailed out her fiancee:
What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though,”
