This past weekend, in association with the annual “Harlem Week” Festival, 135th Street from St. Nicholas Avenue to Lenox Avenue, better known as Malcolm X Boulevard, was lit in celebration of “Malcolm X Day”. The entire Shabazz family, along with The Northstar Group/The Source Magazine Owner L. Londell McMillian, put together a block party to commentate Harlem’s “crowned prince”. Music from all genres filled the air while dance performances on the main stage at the corner of St. Nick and 135th Street wowed the crowd. There were several special invited guests who came through to show love to the legacy of Malcolm including international rapper/activist Immortal Technique, legendary rapper/producer Kwame, Channel Live’s Hakim Green, Flavor Unit’s Lakim Shabazz, Scarface of the Geto Boys and the iconic Brand Nubian, who closed out the show with a performance. See photos below from this Northstar sponsored event.
