A trial date has been set for the wrongful death suit filed by Michael Brown’s parents, Lesly McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr. However, the trial will not hit the courtroom for another year–it’s set to begin in October of 2016. A federal judge set the date for the trial after the city of Ferguson tried to throw out the lawsuit.
McSpadden and Brown Sr. both filed the wrongful death suit after former Ferguson cop Darren Wilson was cleared of any wrong doing after killing their son, Michael Brown Jr. The death of Brown sparked outrage throughout the city of Ferguson and other U.S. cities resulting in riots.
