Can the fans sense some early regular season trash talk? Is the comment valid enough to be cosigned? These are the questions fans are pondering on as Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden said in a interview that he should’ve won the NBA MVP last season. After all, Harden do have a valid point as he was able to average 27.4 points, 7.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds a night for a Rockets squad that became one of the league’s best teams without the presence of “Superman” Dwight Howard throughout the regular season.

Well yesterday, Curry responded to Harden’s comment from the interview with NBA.com. A young, humble MVP, Steph responded to Harden’s quotes as modest as possible, restating that he rightfully deserved the MVP honor for the 2015-2016 regular season. Curry went on to say this:

It doesn’t change what happened last year. I don’t know. Different guys find different ways of motivating themselves. I’ve never been one to just…I’m obviously confident in what I do, and I know he’s confident in what he does. It might come out in a different way.

After all, despite leading his team to a #1 ranking in the Western Conference playoffs, Curry averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists a night for a squad who literally light it up night in and night out. This will be real interesting as both superstars will be stating the case why they are the true MVP when they match up against one another as they faced Houston on Oct. 30th on ESPN at 9:30 pm eastern time.
