Kendrick Lamar officially kicked off his Kunta’s Groove Sessions tour last night at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and from the looks of it, the show–billed as an intimate performance of his sophomore album, To Pimp A Butterfly, backed by a full orchestra–certainly lived up to its explanations.

The National Symphony Orchestra, the legendary 100-musician set founded in 1931, primarily performs in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which made last night a match made in heaven.
