August 1st, 1995. One of Hip-Hop’s most celebrated albums was released by Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon. It was the third solo album from the group and is still talked about by those who do their homework in respected circles. RZA’s “directorial” production and guest features from other Wu members, most notably Ghostface Killah, set the stage for Raekwon to take you into a world of crime, drugs, women, and dirt like you’ve never seen, heard, nor felt. Heck, we gave it 5 mics and rightfully so. Do you remember the first time you heard “Ice Cream”?

To help remember the classic album in its 20th anniversary, Raekwon worked with the ultimate throwback Hip-Hop company Get On Down to design the presentation of the tape. It comes with its own leather watch box. Then it’s box inception as the leather watch box comes in a larger box that features the original album’s artwork. The set also comes with a 118 page hardcover book that features lyrics, liner notes from Raekwon and journalist Chris Faraone, and photos.

You can watch the Chef unbox the Purple Tape above. You can get your piece of history at Get On Down’s website. But don’t wait too long since they’re only making 1,995 copies.
