At the end of this current NBA season, Kevin Durant will officially be an unrestricted free agent able to sign with any team he pleases. KD will be the biggest free agent to hit the market since LeBron James back in 2010. There has been much speculation as to whether he will resign with the Oklahoma City Thunder or join his hometown Washington Wizards. Though the talk is sure to heat up as the season progresses, Durant has already shared his thoughts on the Wizards, their fans especially.

While chatting with reporters following OKC’s defeat of the Phoenix Suns this past Sunday, Durant stated that he felt the hometown Wizards fans were disrespectful to their team after they cheered and fawned over him when the Thunder visited DC this past January.

(The Jan. 22 visit) was kind of disrespectful, in my opinion, because you’ve got a great team there already that deserves your full 100 percent support,” Durant said. “I wouldn’t like that if I was on that team. I didn’t like that, but it comes with it nowadays.

Fans waved signs that read “KD2DC” and some even wore Wizards jerseys with the number 35 and Durant on the back. While this may have seemed great on the surface, Durant felt that Wizards should show loyalty to their current squad which is a perennial playoff team and is home to stars John Wall and Bradley Beal.
