In the fall of 2014, it was revealed that Nicki Minaj and her longtime boyfriend Sarfaree Samuels a/k/a SB, had split up. The fallout was very public and carried on for months, even bleeding into this past summers Drake-Meek Mill feud. Now with 2015 coming to an end, the dramatics had seemingly died down, but not entirely. It is now being reported that Samuels is gearing up to file a lawsuit against his ex, claiming he had significant involvement on Nicki’s past work. This includes contributions to The Pink Print, Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Aside from this, Samuels is also seeking a cut from monster singles such as “Only” featuring Chris Brown, Drake & Lil Wayne, as well as “Flawless” remix featuring Beyoncé. Safaree’s reps have cited that the rapper has a bevy evidence including videos of him assisting Nicki, voice memos, and hours of in-studio footage. This added to multiple witnesses whom will validate his claims. The suit itself has legs considering that Nicki Minaj credited Safaree as an executive producer on her first two albums. Though the amount he is seeking has not yet been made public, it will obviously be a hefty amount given the success of Nicki Minaj’s music.
