Nitara Carrlyn Long, or better known as, Nia Long, is one of our favorite black actresses.
She has been in the game for over 20 long years (and counting). She is a three-time NAACP Image Award winner. Her first notable role on the big screen was as Brandi in Boyz N the Hood. Long also co-directed Ashanti’s “Baby” video. Let’s not forget to mention that she’s from Brooklyn and is of Caribbean descent (just when you thought she couldn’t be any more perfect). 5. Sherry Pierce in Big Mama’s House
Long is on the run from her malicious ex boyfriend, Terrence Howard, who is being released from jail after committing a robbery. She runs to her big mama to hideout, but to her surprise big mama is on vacation, and she’s really been staying with Martin Lawrence who is an undercover cop. In the sequel, Martin and Long fall in love and have a family together.
