New York City was the place to be this past week as DJs within Hip-Hop culture were honored at the 4th Annual Global Spin Awards. Some of the most influential people both past and present were in attendance at the PlayStation Theater but it was the presence of Rev. Jesse Jackson which pleasantly caught everyone by surprise. TheSource.com had an opportunity to speak with him and his message was clear and concise, music is impactful and dictates culture, so it is up to the musicians and especially, the DJs to play music that helps to uplift.
